The Field Service Technician II provides advanced technical maintenance, repair, and support services on equipment, requiring expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues while guiding junior technicians. You will collaborate with engineering teams to implement solutions and improve product performance.

About the Role

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, specializing in manned and unmanned aircraft systems integration. IAS delivers end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities, including design, integration, test, certification, training, and logistics support. Solutions are tailored to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements, with a track record of on-time and on-budget deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced maintenance and repair tasks on aerospace and defense systems.
  • Lead the installation and commissioning of equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and collaborate with engineering teams for resolution.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior field service technicians.
  • Deliver detailed training sessions to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
  • Ensure all fieldwork complies with safety standards and regulations.
  • Manage and track inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Produce detailed technical reports for internal and customer review.
  • Travel to customer sites as necessary, including potential international locations.

This position may require deployment for up to 90 days, depending on mission needs. Deployment is not guaranteed and will be determined at the discretion of management.

Requirements

You must have:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field (a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience).
  • Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Experience using troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
  • Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods.
  • Ability to deploy for extended periods to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Ability to obtain a current/valid passport and secure a visa for international travel.
  • A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment. If you do not currently hold one, SNC will process it prior to employment. Failure to obtain clearance will result in withdrawal of the employment offer.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Associate's degree in a related field of study.
  • Experience with FCC or FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
  • Prior experience with Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or A+.
  • Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot Static equipment gauges.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
  • Experience with software and firmware updates for technical equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
