Field Service Technician I, II, III (Giddings, Brenham, or College Station, TX)

About the role

The Field Service Technician position is responsible for responding to and providing major maintenance and repairs on natural gas compression rental fleet equipment within the assigned region. This role partners with manufacturing and field service teams to address mechanical and electrical issues during installations, maintenance cycles, and repairs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and provides major maintenance and repairs on natural gas compression rental fleet equipment within the assigned region.
• Partners with manufacturing and field service teams to address mechanical and electrical issues during installations, maintenance cycles, and repairs as needed.
• Champion and enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and initiatives.
• Performs skilled tasks including all levels of maintenance, repairs, and overhauls as directed by supervisory personnel.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses all levels of natural gas compressor system failures.
• Optimizes compression equipment performance.
• Stays abreast of advanced natural gas compressor and engine theory and maintenance.
• Complies with all company and customer safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Complies with all other company policies and procedures.
• Completes appropriate paperwork as directed.
• Presents a professional image.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Experience as a shop mechanic or field service technician.
• General mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas industry, including gas compression sector.
• High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with teams, vendors, and personnel.
• Positive, "can-do" attitude with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
• Effective time-management skills and demonstrated ethical behavior.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Standing, walking, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
• Frequent physical labor, including lifting and carrying heavy items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely handle tasks and perform additional physical duties as needed to support field operations.
• Performing physical activities requiring use of arms, legs, and full-body movement (e.g., uneven surfaces, stand/sit long periods of time, bending, stooping, hard surfaces, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching).
• Having sufficient visual acuity to read diagrams, identify wire markings, measure components, and inspect assemblies for quality and accuracy.
• Wearing required PPE, which may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.
• Regular travel to and from field locations, often in varied and sometimes inclement weather conditions.
