Field Service Technician I - Auburndale/Lakeland, FL Area (Company Vehicle & 4-Day Workweeks!)
About the role
Shaping The Future of Water - Hach offers a comprehensive training period of 10 weeks, including 8 weeks in the field and 2 weeks in classroom training. After completing the training, the schedule consists of 4 shifts per week, typically 10 hours each, based on workload demand. The role includes travel to customer sites across various municipal and industrial settings, such as drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, among others.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standards.
- Promote a positive customer experience and serve as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related issues.
- Work in diverse environments, including but not limited to drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc.
- Submit prompt, accurate service reports affecting billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failures.
- Follow safe work practices according to company policy.
- Execute administrative tasks supporting service visits.
- Daily travel to customer sites.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a travel-based field service and/or customer-facing roles.
- HS Diploma required; Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful but not required.
- Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to rent a car and/ or hotel rooms under applicable state law are required.
Qualifications

Pay
The compensation range for this role is $29.00 - $31.00 USD per hour. This job is also eligible for Incentive Pay.
Schedule
This role will be based in the Auburndale/Lakeland, FL area and supports our customers throughout the territory. Expect between 50% & 75% travel. Company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays. You can expect to have 1 or 2 overnight stays per week.
