About the role
Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) makes the technology that powers everyday payment devices—from self-checkout machines and casino slots to vending machines and parking meters. With over 10 million devices installed worldwide, CPI enables more than 4 billion transactions weekly in 143+ currencies. As a Field Service Technician I, you’ll service, upgrade, and maintain electromechanical equipment (coin/currency systems, ATMs, software, and office products) across client sites in St. Louis and Columbia, MO, ensuring seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Service, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance on company electromechanical equipment.
- Travel daily to client sites (90% local, 10% overnight as needed), including long drives depending on territory.
- Collaborate with branch teams to meet client needs and address service requests within contract response times.
- Cover extended hours and on-call duties where applicable.
- Maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory and ensure cleanliness of company-issued vehicle.
- Safeguard company assets (e.g., tablet, mobile phone) and adhere to scheduled vehicle service intervals.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a technical/field service role or similar profession.
- Impeccable integrity and ability to access highly secured environments (occupational licenses may be required).
- Strong electromechanical aptitude and proficiency in iOS, MS Office, and Windows OS.
- Excellent verbal/written communication with a customer-first attitude.
- Personable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to set goals, meet deadlines, and work proactively without constant supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Periodic travel to Mt. Prospect, IL, for training.
- Ability to lift, push, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds (e.g., money-counting machines).
- Kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting up to 60% of the time.
- Hand/wrist dexterity for using tools and handling parts.
- Standing for long periods (up to 75% of the time) and desk work (10% of the time).
