About the Role

Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) makes the technology that powers everyday transactions—from self-checkout kiosks and casino slot machines to vending machines and parking meters. With over 10 million devices installed worldwide, CPI enables more than 4 billion transactions weekly in 143+ currencies. As a Mechanical Field Service Technician I, you’ll service, repair, upgrade, and maintain electromechanical equipment (coin/currency validators, ATMs, software, and office products) across client sites in the Cincinnati to Lexington, KY region.

Responsibilities

  • Service, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance on CPI’s electromechanical equipment.
  • Travel daily to client sites (90% local, 10% overnight as needed), including long drives depending on territory.
  • Collaborate with branch teams to meet client needs and address service requests within contract response times.
  • Cover extended hours and on-call duties where applicable.
  • Maintain a balanced inventory of vehicle stock parts and ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the company-issued vehicle.
  • Safeguard company assets, including tablets and mobile phones.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as a technician, field service professional, or in a mechanical role.
  • Ability to gain access to highly secured environments; occupational licenses may be required.
  • Strong electromechanical aptitude (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first attitude.
  • Personable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in iOS, MS Office, and Windows OS.
  • Ability to set goals, track progress, and meet deadlines without constant supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Available for periodic travel to the corporate office in Mt. Prospect, IL for training.
  • Able to lift, push, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds (e.g., money-counting machines and parts).
  • Kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting up to 60% of the time to service equipment.
  • Hand and wrist dexterity for tasks like turning screwdrivers and handling parts.
  • Phone or desk work (10% of the time) for computer tasks, bench repairs, and scheduling.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 75% of the time) while servicing equipment.
