Field Service Technician I

About the role

As a Field Service Technician I, you will perform functions related to product readiness for patient utilization on a wide range of rental and customer-owned medical products. This includes cleaning, disinfecting, operational function checks, and minor repairs of Baxter and non-Baxter products. Every repair, delivery, and service call makes a real impact in transforming healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Move and inspect medical products within Baxter service centers, healthcare facilities, and private homes.
• Load and unload Baxter products and maneuver medical equipment within truck beds.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate needed repairs.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on Baxter products.
• Provide on-call coverage up to a 24/7 basis, including weekends and holidays, which may require customer account visits.
• Navigate electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, or PCs to enter or acquire information.
• Demonstrate how to use Baxter products to hospital staff, caregivers, and other participants.
• Sustain a clean and safe work environment, including 5S activities (sort, set in order, sweep, standardize, and sustain).
• Safely operate a company vehicle ranging in size from a cargo van up to a 26,000-pound truck.
• Lift and carry up to 65 pounds using appropriate safety and ergonomic procedures.
• Wear proper PPE including safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing (gloves supplied include both latex and non-latex materials).
• Complete all required safety and compliance modules and medical testing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Obtain and maintain a DOT physical card.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Baxter is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time).

Pay

The estimated base salary for this position is $43,200 - $59,400. The range reflects an anticipated salary based on market data and other factors, including location, skills, expertise, and experience. Individual pay may vary within this range.
