Job Summary
As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be at the heart of what we do: diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Caterpillar machines in the field. Whether it’s a dozer, excavator, wheel loader, haul truck, you’ll use your skills and experience to deliver top-tier service that keeps our customers moving.
Additional Duties
- Servicing Air Conditioning systems
- Maintaining detailed service records
- Collaborating with fellow technicians on complex repairs
- Adhering to all safety protocols
Competencies
- Proficient reading and writing skills
- Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Basic computer literacy
- Familiarity with Caterpillar engine and equipment lines
- In-depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions
- Skilled in using Caterpillar diagnostic tools (Electronic Technician, Service Information System)
- Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures
- Welding experience is a plus
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.

Physical Requirements
- Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling.
- Standing, sitting, and climbing up and down stairs, as well as standing, sitting, and climbing into machines.
- Dexterity Normal.
- Repetitive Motions: Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
