Field Service Technician
About the role
As part of the CGA team and broader Tech24 network, the Hot & Cold Technicians plays a critical role in servicing both commercial cooking (hot side) and refrigeration (cold side) equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen and refrigeration systems while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in solving problems, minimizing customer downtime, and representing the company with professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, etc.)
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines, etc.)
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations
- Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
- Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers
- Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
- Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies
- Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, flattops, warmers, dishwashers mixers, etc.)
- 3-5+ years of experience with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines, low boys, etc.)
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
- Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
- Own industry standard hand tools
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed
- EPA Universal certification preferred

Pay
The advertised pay range for this position is $40–$45. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in both commercial hot-side and cold-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
