About the Role
We are seeking hardworking Field Service Technicians to join our Capital Rubber-Stockton location. This is an hourly, non-exempt position focused on conveyor belt services in Northern California.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Fully understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Complete time sheets and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Drive truck and trailer combinations.
- Install mechanical splice materials and use all related installation tools.
- Assemble vulcanizing equipment.
- Select and set up work area, including removal of conveyor components, clamping off belt, and raising counterweight.
- Properly lay out and prepare belt ends for a vulcanized splice, including lap splicing and finger splicing on fabric belt widths from 24″–96″.
- Professionally manage customer and employee concerns.
- Communicate with management, staff, and customers in a professional manner.
- Promote and explain product lines, highlighting features and benefits to customers.
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Safely lift 75–100 pounds frequently, using proper lifting techniques.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical experience.
- A valid driver’s license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment.
- Good communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Willingness to work a variety of schedules on-call, including dayshift, nightshift, weekends, and holidays.
Added consideration given to candidates with crew lead experience, welding, and other fabrication skills.
Work Conditions
- Work is performed in various industrial settings, including shop, mining, and construction environments.
- Exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and fumes from adhesives, solvents, and paints.
- Required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required regularly, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves, and other protective equipment.
- Pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Subject to a pre-employment background check.
