About the Role
This position is 60% Service Technician and 40% Repairs Units. As a Service Technician, you will construct and repair units in the yard following Satellite Shelter’s policies and specifications. In the Repairs Units role, you will maintain the fleet on customer locations, perform repairs and modifications, and ensure units meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Interface with customers at job sites.
- Prepare units for rental in a timely manner according to Satellite quality standards.
- Make repairs and modifications to units as required, both in the yard and on location.
- Perform maintenance on units while on location, including taking photographs as required.
- Clean all units, including washing and waxing flooring.
- Replace and install floor tile, windows, doors, exterior siding, and other building components.
- Paint all portions of units to specifications.
- Remove and replace walls, lighting, plumbing, and electrical components.
- Perform light carpentry work/repair on customer job sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of maintenance/construction experience.
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) and ability to pass required background checks.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with customers, vendors, and sub-contractors.
- Excellent problem-solving and detail-oriented skills.
- Basic mechanical skills to work on vehicles and equipment.
- Average computer knowledge and ability to read/write for maintaining records and inventory.
- Good organizational skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of tools associated with the position.
Physical/Mental Demands
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Physical and mental ability to operate company vehicles and associated equipment.
- Ability to perform rigorous outdoor and indoor duties, including walking, standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and sitting.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion, and grip strength.
- Ability to work in all climate conditions and be exposed to loud noise levels.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools, including holding air impact tools up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in environments containing dirt, grease, and dust.
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and equipment.
