About the role

The Field Service Technician will work at customer facilities diagnosing and repairing buses/trucks under warranty, providing customer support, and performing campaigns required by RIDE or customer vehicles. Under general supervision of the Customer Service Manager or Supervisor, the Technician will complete work assignments at customer facilities, RIDE locations, and may perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnosis and repairs of warranty-related issues.
  • Provide customer interface and reports on field maintenance activities.
  • Respond to customer requests, comments, or complaints as needed.
  • Assist customers with maintenance-related issues.
  • Order parts as needed, coordinate repairs, and provide daily service reports/parts requisitions.
  • Coordinate new vehicle delivery acceptance with customers in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Provide daily status reporting to the Customer Service Manager/Supervisor.
  • Follow up with parts clerks for parts availability and ETA.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of transit bus maintenance operations and field service support.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a related field.
  • EV or HV experience is essential.
  • EV truck and/or transit bus technician experience, preferably in a field service environment.
  • Experience with computer-based diagnostics in bus maintenance operations.
  • Experience with bus electric drive systems preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work in the customer's environment; weekends, nights, and long hours may occur.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in home state with no more than one infraction during the previous three years.
  • Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement preferred; ability to obtain if not currently held.
  • ASE Transit Bus Certifications preferred.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Travel is expected for this position.

Schedule

  • 8-hour shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday
  • Overtime may be required
