Field Service Technician

Role Overview: This Field Service Technician position involves performing on-site start-up, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of low- and medium-voltage power systems, including switchgear and automatic transfer switches. You will diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring systems meet safety, quality, and performance standards. The role requires strong hands-on electrical expertise, reading detailed schematics, and maintaining customer relationships. Responsibilities Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for installed systems.Execute site assessments, installations, start-up, testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.Lead complex commissioning, upgrades, and modernization efforts to ensure proper system functioning.Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment.Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, and customer expectations.Collaborate with team members and support technical and customer service functions.Document project activities and support technical training initiatives. Qualifications & Skills 5+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, installation, testing, and repair of power distribution and control equipment.Proficiency with electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and relevant safety standards (CSA, NFPA, UL).Strong customer service skills and professional communication.Knowledge of industrial control systems, relays, PLCs, HMIs, and testing certifications (preferred).Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
