About the role

Pengate Handling Systems is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. Based in the Northeast, we are renowned for our innovative solutions, high-quality products, and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for our customers and internal teams.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of material handling equipment (basic to advanced repairs).
  • Perform comprehensive forklift inspections to identify needed repairs and proactive maintenance.
  • Communicate with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, cost changes, and additional service recommendations.
  • Work safely and follow all company safety policies and industry's best practices.
  • Complete accurate, organized service documentation and submit within required timelines.
  • Maintain and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle, including parts inventory.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional at customer sites.
  • Represent the company through professional appearance, communication, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, automotive, material handling, or related repair fields.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset.
  • Effective communication skills (customer and internal).
  • Ability to work independently in the field.
  • Focus on producing accurate paperwork and documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 10 hours.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, and speak with good articulation and voice control.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
