Field Service Technician
About the role
Our M/D Totco group is looking for a Field Service Technician in the Washington, PA area. An ideal candidate has a technical background with mechanical and electrical aptitude, is a self‑starter, dependable, with a desire to grow in their profession and career. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing all NOV – M/D Totco rental systems throughout West Texas.
Responsibilities
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Travel to customer locations across West Texas to install, calibrate, test, and commission M/D Totco equipment and software.
- Provide onsite training to customers in safe operation and use of M/D Totco systems.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment and software, including updates, upgrades, and replacements.
- Respond to and manage service calls, including troubleshooting, repairs, additional equipment requests, rig up/down equipment, etc.
- Diagnose and solve problems from non‑technical descriptions provided by customers.
- Build positive relationships with customers and deliver excellent service.
- Produce timely and detailed service reports, billing tickets, and other job‑relevant documentation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least two years of technical experience preferred.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude; electrical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of oil and gas equipment, hardware, and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel more than 75% and be on call.
- Ability to work a 10‑days‑on, 4‑days‑off schedule with 12+ hour days.
- Must be at least 21 years old and pass background, driving record, and drug screenings.
