Field Service Technician

About the role

This position requires completing all safety training, training plans, and competency standards as set out within company guidelines. The role demands a strong understanding of NOV quality policies and compliance with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace instructions. Work must be carried out in compliance with ISO, API, and SCC standards, and to the highest quality level. The individual must be available on a 24-hour call basis as needed and able to travel for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Install advanced completion tools equipment according to operating procedures or within the scope of its intended use.
  • Maintain good knowledge and understanding of on location rigs, coiled tubing tools, completion tools/systems, and liner hanger systems.
  • Perform advanced downhole hydraulic calculations.
  • Verify and inspect completion tools equipment and supplies shipped to the wellsite are in proper working condition.
  • Report status of on-going activities on a daily basis to the Field Service Manager.
  • Prepare, complete, and submit accurate and thorough end of well reports on a timely basis to the Operations Manager/Field Service Manager.
  • Prepare JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for wellsite operations.
  • Hold pre-job meetings and toolbox talks with relevant on location personnel.
  • Supervise and mentor Field Technicians I and II as required.
  • Work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems.
  • Provide workshop assistance when not at field locations.
  • Participate in CAT (Corrective Action Teams) to implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Participate in actions which promote a safety and quality culture within NOV.
  • Report any unsafe activities or injuries to HSE Manager and immediate manager immediately.
  • Be aware of responsibilities, accountabilities, tasks, and goals for health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Prepare and keep accurate paperwork on delivery tickets, job reports, time sheets, and other similar administrative forms.
  • Prepare equipment for dispatch; package and load-out according to company instructions.
  • Complete formal job closure including post job tool inspections, back-loading of equipment, job ticket signature, and job submission.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5-10 years industry experience in relevant field

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Basic level computer skills (Microsoft Office)
