Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Assemble and repair high voltage power transformers.
• Operate oil processing equipment for transformer vacuum filling and oil processing.
• Maintain oil processing equipment in mechanical working order.
• Transport oil processing equipment, generators, trailers to customer locations.
• Assist in coordinating substation services with technicians, electricians and project manager.
• Travel to different customer sites/locations.
• Oversee equipment performance and ensure proper function.
• Provide reporting on equipment gauge monitoring and daily progress/activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Supplemental courses in electrical maintenance are desired.
• Current and valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.
• Able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Able to pass a fit for duty exam.
• Available for regular overnight domestic travel and occasional international travel.
• Able and willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
• Able to travel up to 75% as needed.

Preferred

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• NCCO Crane Certification
• Some knowledge of the fundamentals and principles of mechanical.
• Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions required in working in a power distribution facility.
• Ability to learn to read and interpret electrical diagrams and prints.
• Ability to learn to read and interpret a variety of power generation and distribution metering and recording devices.
• Ability to learn the practices and procedures of the industry.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
