Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and assemble pumps, motors, and generators.
  • Perform motor and generator preventive and breakdown maintenance, including:
    • Rolling element bearing replacement
    • Journal bearing measurement and maintenance
    • Winding electrical testing and repair
    • In-place winding replacement
  • Motor, pump, and generator removals and installations.
  • Rotating equipment shaft alignment using dial indicators, feeler gages, laser, and CMM.
  • Equipment base modifications and repair.
  • Use of test equipment including surge testers, meggers, multimeters, and high-pot testers.
  • Use of precision linear measuring equipment.
  • Safely perform equipment rigging.
  • Understand, perform, and retain various skill-related training and operational and safety procedures.
  • Assist other shop departments with skilled or non-skilled duties as needed.
  • Interact with customers on a regular basis.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

All work will be done with experienced personnel for on-the-job training until necessary experience is obtained to work alone.

Requirements

  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Willing to travel up to 5 days a week and overnight as needed.
  • Knowledge and use of hand and power tools.
  • Electromechanical experience a plus.
  • Rigging and machinery moving experience helpful.
  • Millwright’s experience preferred.
  • Provide own basic hand tools (company provides all others).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles.
  • CDL B endorsement preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work as a team to complete tasks.
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper PPE as needed.
  • Fluent in English (verbal, reading, writing).
  • Willing to work overtime as required by the job.
  • Ability to drive a forklift or complete training to obtain a forklift license.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and occasional weekends to meet customer service requirements.

  • Customer sites vary, including:
    • 1000’ Iron Ore Ships
    • Paper mills
    • Hydro Generating Stations
    • Coal Fired Power Plants
    • Clean Water and Wastewater Departments
    • Various manufacturing facilities in WI, MN, MI, and IL
  • Inside and outside work year-round.
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, walking, and stairs.
