About the role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electronic Field Service Technician with an electro-mechanical background to troubleshoot and repair AC VFDs, DC motor controls, PLCs, and other industrial production machinery. This fast-paced role emphasizes "Legendary Service" and requires a strong problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments and appreciates working on diverse machinery.
Responsibilities
- Performs troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, motion controllers, AC/DC drives, and industrial devices for customers.
- On-site troubleshooting and electronic repair of simple to complex production machinery.
- Installation and start-up of industrial control systems.
- Participate in a rotational “On Call” after-hours service.
- Work with both internal and external customers.
- Perform field retrofits and start-up services of large-scale, complex control systems.
- Adopt a “do whatever it takes” mentality to service and repair products to meet customer needs.
- Research and resolve difficult technical service situations in a calm, professional, and efficient manner.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience troubleshooting industrial electronic controls, including relays, contactors, solenoids, and control logic.
- Ability to read and understand electrical-electronic schematic diagrams.
- Skill in troubleshooting, repairing, and programming AC VFDs and DC motor controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and servo motion controllers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter who works independently and is self-motivated.
- Exhibits creativity and tenacity to troubleshoot and repair all types of electronic and industrial devices.
- Manages multiple projects and timelines with a sense of urgency.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Electrical/electronic ACAD and PLC programming experience is a plus.
- Four-year degree preferred.
- Must possess applicable hand tools.
