Responsibilities
- Install/replace battery systems, related accessories, and hardware.
- Install/replace power electronics equipment/hardware, including wiring and connections.
- Perform preventive maintenance and testing on battery and battery charging systems in UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), Utility, and Telecommunication settings.
- Attend and participate in safety training.
- Adhere to all company and industry safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to applicable customer, industry, and manufacturer's maintenance/installation methods and standards.
- Operate basic tools and test equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment.
- Supply and organize trucks with all equipment necessary to perform job functions.
- Continually train and develop to advance Field Service Technician responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have and be able to maintain a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per HM Cragg insurance carrier standard.
- Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Required travel to customer sites out of town for overnight and/or extended periods of time.
- Able to work flexible hours, days, and overtime, as needed.
- Able to lift items up to 150 lbs. multiple times a day.
- Able to obtain Class C Commercial Driver's License where required by state law.
- Maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) random drug and alcohol screening requirements.
Skills/Knowledge
- Basic electrical knowledge, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to work with a range of tools, from wrenches to multimeters.
- Possess troubleshooting skills and be able to effectively operate basic equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Efficient in Microsoft Office software.
