About the role
We are seeking a Parking Technician to join our HUB Parking Technology team. This position involves on-site installation, service, and maintenance of parking and access control hardware and software in the Minneapolis area. The role requires on-call duties and may include varied travel obligations in and out of state.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and maintain parking and access control hardware and software.
- Provide support for multiple products, including hardware and software.
- Work with electronics, mechanical devices, and PC computer systems.
- Support various operating systems and networking tasks.
- Assist clients and other field service technicians with software and hardware issues.
- Occasionally assist in installing state-of-the-art Parking and Revenue Control systems and Access Control equipment (e.g., equipment bolt-down, wiring termination, establishing communications, configuring, and testing new equipment under a Project Manager’s direction).
- Participate in a compensated on-call rotation during nights and weekends.
Requirements
- Electronics technical school training or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work with proprietary software, hardware communications, programming, and repair.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools; ability to lift over 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Clean driving record and ability to complete OSHA safety courses.
- Knowledge of SQL Server database maintenance and Microsoft Operating Systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly with customers.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and operate outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of MS Windows software and operating systems.
- Experience with network and/or communication systems.
- MS Network and/or MS A+ Certifications.
