Onsite position requiring commuting to Ely, NV Monday through Friday.

About the Role

Komatsu is seeking a Field Service Supervisor to manage Field Service Technicians at the Robinson site. This role supports operational needs, enhances leadership engagement, and ensures safe, efficient, and quality service at our customer site. The position focuses on promoting a zero-harm safety culture, maintaining strong customer relationships, providing technical support, and overseeing project execution. The Supervisor will set clear expectations, interact with customer and account managers daily, and ensure customer needs are met while achieving financial targets, including revenue, margin, and expense control.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance management for the Field Service Team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a zero-harm safety philosophy by enforcing safety standards, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with MSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee field service projects from quoting through completion, ensuring timely coordination, resource allocation, and execution of service jobs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal leadership, maintaining clear, professional communication to support service delivery and resolve issues.
  • Build and maintain the field service team to meet budgeted headcount, collaborating with other regions to optimize manpower utilization.
  • Monitor and drive field service utilization metrics, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance service quality.
  • Provide expert-level technical assistance to internal teams and external customers, troubleshooting complex issues using diagnostic tools and engineering principles.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience or equivalent technical experience in heavy mining equipment.
  • Proven experience with shovels and draglines in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and field operations.
  • MSHA certification required.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, functional testing equipment, and specialty instruments.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and service management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support field operations and company objectives.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Skills

  • Ability to interpret and explain complex engineering concepts in practical, easy-to-understand terms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.

Pay
