Field Service Specialist II
About the role
Waters Materials Sciences Division's Field Service Organization is comprised of highly skilled, motivated, and customer-focused professionals who are technical experts on TA Instruments' product suite. As a Field Service Specialist, you'll join a global team committed to ensuring legendary service for customers using our scientific instrumentation and software. This role provides the opportunity to offer technical expertise on TA Instruments' innovative product suite across multiple customer laboratories in industries such as Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences, Chemical Materials, Clinical, Food, Environmental, Forensics, Academia, and Government.
Responsibilities
- Provides customer service, training, diagnoses, and troubleshoots customer problems; assists with parts management issues.
- Repairs, installs, and uses all currently supported instrument models and accessories; gains limited knowledge of applications software; calibrates instruments for efficient performance.
- Prepares reports, logs, and documentation of service and repair activities; maintains up-to-date manuals, service notes, drawings, and other materials for efficiency.
- Completes paperwork to document work in progress, completed work, and other vital tracking paperwork; submits required paperwork on a timely basis.
- Establishes and maintains prompt professional communications with customers and internal resources.
- Provides information to customers regarding service products and offerings; effectively sells service products and contracts.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or other science-related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- 0-2 years of experience with installation, performance maintenance, troubleshooting, support, and/or end-user utilization of scientific instrumentation. Preference for experience with TA Instruments product suite (DSC, TGA, SDT, TMA, SA, DMA, DHR, HR, ARES, and RSA).
- Ability to perform effective system-level troubleshooting.
- Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with different expertise levels and adapt approach to meet customer needs.
- Personal sense of integrity, trust, and ethical practice; ability to work independently and make decisions.
- Effective time management skills and a system-level approach to problem-solving.
- Analytical attitude with a strong drive to resolve open issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A clean driving license and a valid passport are required.
This is a territory-based position with travel within your designated territory and occasional overnight travel.
