Field Service Professional - Bowie/Annapolis, MD
Position Purpose
The Field Service Professional is a skilled technician responsible for performing a full range of equipment repairs on various industrial equipment found within Home Depot and external customers' retail locations and manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize company technology platform to document all work performed on equipment, including labor and parts. Accurately maintain, report and store parts inventory. Complete and organize tech stock replenishment into company vehicle.
Proactively communicate with business partners and leaders regarding customer needs, parts and servicing of equipment to provide excellent customer service. Effectively communicate with customers regarding service requested and provided.
Perform all work and assignments in accordance with proper safety practices. Adhere to all THD and safety rules and regulations. Use sound judgment to address and eliminate safety related issues. Comply with company safety, driving and vehicle standards.
Diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment both mechanically and electrically. Perform proper inspections and testing of customer equipment aligned with preventive maintenance. Be available and accessible by phone and tablet during work schedule in order to provide excellent customer service.
Perform other responsibilities and duties as required.
Physical Requirements
- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
- Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
- Working conditions are indoors and outdoors including exposure to extreme temperatures, working around fumes, oils and chemicals. Exposure to loud noises, tools and equipment. Periods of prolonged standing or walking.
- Daily driving in local market/territory. Limited overnight travel in select markets.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
Valid Drivers' License for your employment state
At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment and conducting preventive maintenance on industrial and commercial equipment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical schematics
Versatile equipment maintenance repair skill set
Ability to adhere to OSHA regulations including, but not limited to fall protection, lock-out tag-out procedures
Willingness to get EPA 608 certification and perform the responsibility of refrigerant removal for recycling
Reside within 15-20 miles of the target city
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Good written and verbal communications skills
Ability to consistently and accurately document work performed
