Field Service Mechanic A - Generators, HVAC & Pumps

Job Purpose

The Field Mechanic, Pump is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pump equipment at customer job sites as well as Herc Rentals branches. This role ensures equipment is operating efficiently and safely, providing technical support directly in the field and minimizing downtime for clients.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Technical school or trade certification preferred
• 2+ years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in pump systems, heavy equipment, or diesel engines
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain CDL if required
• Experience with troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and minor electrical issues
• Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA standards
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly, work outdoors, and travel within assigned region
• Availability for occasional overtime, on-call, and weekend work as business needs dictate

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities for pumps and related equipment
• Proficient with hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. The actual salary offered for any position is subject to the company's sole discretion and may be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, location, and overall fit for the role.
