About the role

We are seeking knowledgeable, customer-focused auto, diesel, aircraft, or forklift technicians to join the Crown team. This role involves communicating daily with Service Customer Care, Dispatch, and Field Service Management to determine work schedules, training and monitoring Field Service Technicians, and ensuring safety practices. You will travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair lift trucks, perform operator training, and maintain good customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with Service Customer Care, Dispatcher, and Field Service Manager to determine work schedule.
  • Train, motivate, and monitor job performance of Field Service Technicians, including while at customer locations.
  • Inspect repairs and scheduled maintenance; ensure safety practices.
  • Review paperwork and timecards.
  • Confer with customers and communicate issues to branch management; maintain good customer relations.
  • Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair lift trucks.
  • Perform operator training or "train the trainer" at customer locations.
  • Pick up parts and replenish van inventory; perform minor repairs and service to the van.
  • Complete necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; Crown will not sponsor work authorization for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Field Service Technician with Crown.
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Technical degree, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment.
  • Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and motivational skills.
