About the Role
This position involves on-the-road travel, staying in hotels 4 nights a week after completing a 2-4 week training period at our facility in Holland, Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Perform field installations, start-ups, and preventative maintenance.
- Inspect and conduct performance tests to verify product compliance with manufacturing prints and engineering/purchase specifications.
- Document installed product performance.
- Conduct training and instruct product users in proper operation and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate refrigeration, electronics, and electro-mechanical components using prints and schematics.
- Establish, maintain, and develop positive customer relationships, including coordinating service calls and generating work.
- Explain benefits of refrigeration and controller retrofits, establish preventive maintenance contracts, and perform general service work.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures.
- Maintain vehicle logs, maintenance schedules, and detailed field service and travel expense reports.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of refrigeration experience and a solid understanding of single-stage refrigeration (cascade refrigeration knowledge a plus).
- Minimum 2 years of work experience or training in commercial/industrial refrigeration or HVAC/R.
- Experience with electronics and controls programming.
- Work experience in a related service capacity.
- EPA Universal Certificate and experience in environmental simulation systems industry preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
Travel
- Weekly local and regional travel to customer facilities.
- Paid 100% of hourly wage for travel time.
- $350 per diem paid weekly for personal expenses (no receipts required).
- 100% of travel costs covered by the company.
- Work vehicle provided.

- Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle tools, and climb or balance.
- Frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk and hear.
- Must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
