Field Service Engineer (Mechanical/Marine Engineer)

About the Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide field service technical direction in support of US Navy aircraft carrier, submarine, and other support vessels. You will deliver technical oversight for the shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright products, including steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators. Responsibilities span engineering oversight throughout disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment. The work environment is industrial, with odd hours and weekend work not uncommon.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for maintenance and overhaul activities on complex rotating machinery.
- Read and interpret assembly and machining drawings.
- Use tooling, machining, and measurement devices.
- Troubleshoot complex rotating machinery.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
- Generate complex reports using Word and Excel.
- Support overtime and weekend work as necessary.
- Travel up to 25%.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and/or 10+ years of experience in the related field.
- Experience with heavy rotating oil-lubricated machinery.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance.
- Shipboard construction environment experience preferred.
- Prior experience with maintenance overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery, preferably steam turbine experience.

Pay
$100,000 to $110,000. The salary range is a general guideline for a position based in VA. Criteria such as qualifications, experience, position scope, and market considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.
