About the role
You will provide field service technical direction in support of US Navy aircraft carrier, submarine, and other support vessels. You will provide technical direction primarily associated with the shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright product such as steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators. You will be providing engineering oversight to key clients throughout the disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction primarily associated with the shipboard installation and overhaul of Curtiss Wright product such as steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators.
- Provide engineering oversight to key clients throughout the disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment.
- Typical work environment is industrial in nature where odd hours and weekend work is not uncommon.
Requirements
- Experience in heavy rotating oil lubricated machinery.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Perform maintenance and overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery.
- Technical troubleshooting of complex rotating machinery.
- Communicate to all internal and external customers professionally.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate and generate complex Word and Excel reports.
- Able to support overtime and weekends as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and/or 10+ years experience in the related field.
- US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
- Shipboard construction environment experience preferred.
- Prior experience with maintenance overhaul activity on complex rotating machinery, preferably steam turbine experience.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25%.
Skills
- Read and interpret assembly and machining drawings.
- Use tooling, machining, and measurement devices.
- Generate complex Word and Excel reports.
