About the role
This role will provide technical support to the field organization via phone, site visits, written instructions, and training with comprehensive knowledge of one or more product lines.
- Provides technical assistance to the field organization covering one or more product lines of the company’s current portfolio via phone and site visits.
- Leads the preparation of product documentation and bulletins for field use.
- Instructs others technically in products and processes.
- Performs beta or other testing to provide performance feedback to the Quality, R&D Engineering, and Manufacturing Plant groups.
- Trains Field Mechanics and Support Engineers I through II as needed.
- Must have the ability to develop into a subject matter expert in one or more product lines.
- Works under minimal supervision of the Field Engineer Manager.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Maintains a valid passport.
- Requires travel within and outside the United States up to 50% of the time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field of study preferred or 8 years of relevant elevator work experience.
- Eight years or more equivalent elevator work experience required.
- Experience or education in one of the following: hydraulics, static motor drives, microprocessors, and electronics.
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment preferred.
- QEI Certification a plus.
- NEIEP or NEII Certification.
- OSHA 30hr Certificate.
- Quality System Training desired.
- Must be able to possess a valid passport.
- Must possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as required.
- Must possess customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess decision-making and analytical skills.
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the functions of the job.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
