About the role
As a Field Service Engineer you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment at customer sites, ensuring full functionality according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Install new or modified equipment at customer facilities.
- Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives.
- Inspect malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.
- Analyze review and inspection findings to determine source of problem; recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
- Coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
- Provide on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Maintain records of performance reports.
- Analyze reports of technical problems to identify trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance; recommend modifications to eliminate future problems.
- Serve as a communication link between the customer and the company to ensure effective service is provided.
- Develop and conduct training on the safe operation of equipment for both team members and customers.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree related to the technical skills required of the job; or
- An AA degree related to the technical skills required (or equivalent university program certificate) plus a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or
- 10+ years of directly related experience and/or training in lieu of education.
- Ability to stand for four to eight hours per day while inspecting or performing work on equipment at customer facilities.
- OSHA Safety certificates.
- Current driver’s license.
- Ability to travel by car and/or airplane to customer or company worksites on a frequent basis, as needed.
- Available and willing to travel 75% of the time.
