We serve healthcare facilities, physicians, and their patients nationwide through dedicated clinical and service teams.

About the Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will report to the Service Center and/or travel to customer sites to perform daily tasks associated with the upkeep and repair of mobile medical equipment. Travel outside your local territory—up to 20% overnight—may be required. Your initial focus will be on URS Holmium Laser units, with developmental training provided for additional urological surgery devices, including MR Fusion Prostate Biopsy and ESWL Lithotripsy (X-ray and Ultrasound).

Responsibilities

  • Complete all service training provided by UMS and respective manufacturers.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) in accordance with UMS, state, federal, and manufacturer intervals.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment per manufacturer guidelines using appropriate diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Submit service reports, preventative maintenance records, used parts, and expense reports weekly.
  • Travel up to 20% overnight as needed.
  • Maintain a company-provided service vehicle.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all assigned equipment.
  • Respond to field service calls and perform necessary work following UMS protocol.
  • Follow department procedures in the event of equipment failure.
  • Submit and discuss your weekly itinerary with the Service Manager.
  • Maintain 24/7 availability for communication.
  • Track and order spare parts as needed.

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant experience in field service repair or engineering.
  • Two-year degree in electronics or equivalent directly related experience.
  • Understanding of electronics theory and proven experience working with electronics and schematics.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills using test equipment.
  • Strong mechanical skills with the ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to perform daily physical labor, including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy machinery.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
