About the role
PROFIL specializes in mechanically attached fasteners (MAF) both in die (Transfer & Progressive) and Manual operations (C-frame & Hand load cell). We are looking for a motivated field service engineer to support our customers onsite. The goal is to provide top notch support to the local customers.
Responsibilities
- Support the customer professionally and effectively for planned and unplanned visits.
- Diagnose & troubleshoot issues with installation heads, fastener feeders, and electropneumatic kits (in-die & manual operations).
- Install and validate new systems on customer floor and at local tool shops following the buyoff procedure and documentation.
- Cooperate with team providing feedback for improvement opportunities and lessons learned.
- Provide training on-site and VIA internet for new and existing customers.
- Create and share service reports explaining visit information in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Proven competency in mechanical and electropneumatic systems (simple and complex).
- Basic practical knowledge of HMI/PLC (Allen Bradley & Siemens).
- Strong interpersonal skills are required for communicating with the team and the customer.
- Experience in tool & die (Presses & Dies) is beneficial but not required.
- Good verbal and written skills are highly sought VIA Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
Location: Waterford, Michigan
Travel: This position requires travel 25-50% of the time to customers in the surrounding states. In most cases the distance is within 3 hours of home. Occasional multi-day visits are required.
