About the role
The Field Service Engineer is a critical part of the support team responsible for the ongoing support of active customer sites. This customer-facing position involves conducting preventive maintenance, resolving technical issues remotely and on-site, leading training efforts, and performing commissioning and testing of the AutoStore system. Support may also include additional third-party systems and integrations based on specific customer sites. The role is key to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and fostering strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Maintain active customer sites to ensure the highest possible system availability and stability.
- Perform commissioning and testing of all AutoStore hardware and software before customer handover.
- Handle customer support issues through remote ticketing and on-site troubleshooting.
- Produce detailed documentation covering best practices, SOPs, and resolution methods.
- Deliver initial and ongoing training for end users and maintenance teams on AutoStore and Kardex subsystems.
- Assist customers during the post-handover ramp-up phase of new projects.
- Travel to project sites for trips of about a week; total travel expected to be 60–70%.
Requirements
- Technical background in automation, electromechanical systems, robotics, or intralogistics (preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent customer communication and service mindset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
- Experience with commissioning, maintenance, or service engineering is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently (60–70%).
- Valid driver’s license.
