Field Service Engineer

About the role

Providing service and support to our Shipyard customers, the Field Service Engineer will be heavily involved in dynamic projects while aboard vessels, assessing PAR products for engineering resolutions for installation, system repairs, problems, or configuration changes. From custom designed elevators and lifts to hydraulic systems, the work you do will ensure the safety of service members around the world.

Responsibilities

• Leading with confidence and engineering expertise to discover the root cause of a problem and implement the best solution to get machinery fully operational and ready to sail the seven seas.
• Conducting on-site inspections, warranty service, and on-the-fly engineering problem solving for customers.
• Managing technical, quality, and business aspects of a project, whether installing a new system or making repairs.
• Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to develop a clear action plan for ensuring components fit together and function in harmony.
• Reviewing project engineering documentation, creating technical solutions as needed, and adhering to Federal OSHA, state, and local regulations.
• Reviewing work orders, staying on budget, and maintaining a schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
• 5+ years’ Shipyard Experience
• Expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, And Hydraulic Systems within the shipbuilding industry
• Strong ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings and work order specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Project
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Highly organized with effective time management skills
