About the role

Under the direction of the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer provides on-site support and technical assistance with Thermal Processing and Aqueous Washing Equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains Thermal Processing and Aqueous Washing Equipment.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures and replaces and installs new components or parts as necessary.
  • Inspects and tests completed work to ensure the service meets quality and safety standards.
  • Develops detailed service reports to document service visits, issues, and troubleshooting actions and logs and tracks maintenance activities.
  • Engages with clients, ensures compliance, conducts feasibility studies, and applies technical knowledge to practical problems; escalates complex problems as necessary.
  • Performs start-up testing and customer training on features and the general maintenance of products/equipment.
  • Collaborates with other professionals and tracks newly installed Thermal Processing and Aqueous Washing Equipment.
  • Confers with engineering, manufacturing, or customer personnel regarding problem definition and solutions.
  • Works from intermediate mechanical and electrical drawings with other ITS personnel to ensure the equipment meets customer specifications and ITS quality standards.
  • Maintains good housekeeping habits and works within ITS safety guidelines and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others working in the area.
  • Keeps the Field Service Manager and other team members apprised of the project’s present condition via daily reports and updates.
  • Tests and debugs ITS OEM equipment prior to shipment, works on the Production floor at the factory, or travels to customers’ sites to perform duties.
  • Works in an organized manner with a focus on meeting scheduled commitments and budget.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Associate Degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • Related work experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment, typically acquired through 2+ years of exposure to mechanical/electrical background in Thermal Processing Capital Equipment.

Skills

  • Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to record and log information accurately.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment and possess strong decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general office-related software (e.g., Microsoft Office and/or MRP/ERP System).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in verbal, written, or diagram form.

Travel Requirements

Role involves 85-95% domestic and international travel as required with short notice. May require working on weekends and/or holidays.
