About the role

Innomotics is looking for a Field Service Engineer for our Medium Voltage Drives who will coordinate, lead, implement and/or perform service for new equipment installations, upgrades, retrofits, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and training.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of very complex equipment and systems.
  • Performs startup and commissioning, upgrades, preventative maintenance, training and emergency break-fix.
  • Leads the most complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls.
  • Preempts potential problems and provides effective solutions for complex and unusual problems before escalating.
  • Trains on the job and in classroom settings, shares knowledge, mentors colleagues, and leads complex product and service training.
  • Generates and submits reports covering all job activity.
  • Guides maintenance of very complex tools, test equipment, calibration items, task plans, drawings and installation schematics.
  • Assumes customer responsibilities, special tasks and other duties assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Ensures safe working conditions at all times.
  • Communicates with Innomotics business units and customers to determine requirements and provide support.
  • Travels frequently to US-based and international customer sites to investigate problems, conduct failure investigations and monitor customer complaints.
  • Provides flexibility to work overtime based on workload and ability to work both scheduled and unscheduled hours.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar field.
  • 8+ years of experience with Medium Voltage Drives.
  • Extensive knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Process Automation and Controls, PLC programming, field excitation, synchronous and induction motors.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time to customer job sites.
  • Key skills include budgeting, conflict resolution, negotiating, influencing, quality-centered focus, action orientation, flexibility and team leadership.
  • Comfortable providing field service engineering and administrative recommendations in customer meetings and job site reviews.

Pay

$87,000 – $149,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
