About the role
The Product Stewardship & Field Services Engineer will have three primary roles:
- Maintain the Series Rating program for all Eaton circuit breakers, fuses, and enclosures
- Drive compliance with environmental programs such as RoHS, Prop 65, etc.
- Engage in and manage CP product field reports
Responsibilities
- Manage existing series ratings program, including:
- Testing circuit breakers in the Beaver or St. Louis High Power Labs
- Maintaining and updating UL files
- Maintaining test records and publications
- Creating literature and documentation
- Seek opportunities to exploit ratings for competitive advantage
- Identify gaps in ratings that give competitors advantages
- Explore new combinations and designs with strong business cases
- Coordinate with Lincoln, Haina, Cherrington, and Sumpter to ensure new product development and product line support accounts for series rating and environmental program requirements
- Develop the scope of work for bringing Lincoln and Haina plants into compliance with RoHS and Prop 65, advocate for funding in profit plan, and execute the plan
- Develop and maintain standard work and processes to assess and meet ROHS-2, REACH, Conflict Minerals, California Proposition 65, and other compliance standards
- Possibly hire and manage direct report(s) depending on the scope of the compliance plan
- Develop business cases and pitch them to management for environmental and series ratings projects
- Seek out and exploit competitive advantages through superior product lifecycle planning and environmental compliance
- Respond to customer requests for information as needed
- Conduct cadence review of field feedback on products with product design teams
- Define scope of opportunities for design improvements/enhancements
- Engage in direct field activities as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- 3+ years of experience working with electrical products (breakers, fuses, enclosures, etc.)
- Must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of the Cherrington facility in Moon Township, PA (no relocation benefit offered; Active-Duty Service members exempt from geographical limitation)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Understanding of firmware in electrical products
- Prior experience interacting with customers
- Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering
- Prior experience in a product design, manufacturing environment, or field services

- Aptitude for supporting multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent presentation skills and public speaking experience
- Basic knowledge of key manufacturing processes such as plastic molding and forming, metal casting, sheet metal fabrication, and electronics
Pay
Expected annual salary range: $97,000 – $143,000. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
