Field Service Engineer

Major Responsibilities

  • Install and repair assigned Agfa products, including safety verification of electrical and environmental factors at customer site.
  • Test product functionality to ensure proper operation and verify operating performance with customer.
  • Provide basic operational functions training to customers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks on assigned SMA, conduct courtesy visits as needed, and manage time & material accounts.
  • Maintain regular communication with Regional Manager to report difficulties and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Document service calls, expenses, and time reports daily and submit weekly according to established procedures.
  • Order and return repairable spare parts components and maintain service aids, tools, and diagnostic equipment in good working order.
  • Maintain response time and uptime commitments through close contact with scheduler.
  • Promote Agfa offerings such as System Maintenance Agreements, Professional Services, and Products.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate degree in electronics technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a high-tech field, preferably in printing, publishing, or inkjet environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem analysis and judgment skills.
  • Self-awareness and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of the Graphics, Inkjet, Printing/Publishing Market (an asset).
  • Strong customer service and support principles.
  • Experience and understanding of remote diagnostics.
