Field Service Engineer

We are hiring a Field Service Engineer for an opportunity in Chesapeake, VA. This role is ideal for prior Gas Turbine Technicians.

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Mechanical/Marine Engineer), you will provide field service technical direction in support of US Navy aircraft carrier, submarine, and other support vessels. Your work will focus on the shipboard installation and overhaul of company products such as steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, and electrical generators. You will provide engineering oversight to key clients throughout the disassembly, inspection, complex report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of related equipment. The work environment is industrial, and odd hours or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for shipboard installation and overhaul of company products (steam turbines, pumps, trip throttle valves, electrical generators).
• Oversee disassembly, inspection, report writing, repairs, reassembly, and testing of equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex rotating machinery, such as turbines.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.

Requirements

• US Citizenship (required for DOD security clearance).
• Ability to read and interpret assembly and machining drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting complex rotating machinery.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year.

Schedule

This is a permanent, fully onsite position based in Chesapeake, VA. The role may require odd hours and weekend work.
