CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment between each rental.
- Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems and pump problems.
- Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends.
- Aid customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed.
- Aid in the performance of start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved.
- Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.
- Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
- Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment.
- Participate in diagnostic checks using computer technology.
- Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Ability to obtain DOT Medical card.
- Commercial Driver License B - Preferred.
- Diagnosing basic mechanical problems.
- Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices.
- Basic understanding of general DC electric and circuit testing skills.
- Basic understanding of general diesel engine component location and identification.
- Safety practices and procedures.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues—preferred.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.

PAY
The estimated salary range for this position is $30 to $34/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
SCHEDULE
Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours.
