About the role
MSXi is expanding one of our client’s programs and seeking automotive repair experts who can troubleshoot tough issues and help complete repairs the first time. As a Field Service Consultant, you will travel locally to designated dealerships to assist their technicians with solving challenging vehicle cases. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys providing knowledge and support, documenting technical issues, conducting research, and following up to resolve complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Assess and solve technical escalations.
- Provide online and in-dealership technical assistance.
- Lead discussions and act as a subject matter expert.
- Manage recall requirements and ensure Required Service Updates (RSU) are completed, following up to reduce buybacks.
- Serve as the quality feedback liaison within the team.
- Consult with dealerships on repair order documentation, repair service agreements, and facility inspections.
- Improve the customer experience and increase “fixed first visit” cases.
- Analyze and suggest repair shop process improvements, offering proactive business planning focused on customer experience.
- Document vehicle case updates using Microsoft Excel.
- Analyze data and create custom reports using provided templates.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of automotive experience; current ASE certification is preferred, but previously certified individuals will be considered.
- Dealership experience is required.
- Field-related management experience is preferred (e.g., Assistant Manager, Shop Foreman).
- Ability to travel locally to dealerships within a designated area.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for analyzing, documenting, and reporting technical information.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information to all levels.
- Highly motivated, adaptive, and autonomous with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current annual wage range for this role is $80,000 to $103,000, based on experience and other factors such as skill sets, training, and organizational needs.
