Position Purpose
The Service Associate is a developmental role designed to prepare employees for future opportunities within the field service organization. It supports commercial truck and trailer performance and customer satisfaction through field-based troubleshooting, service coordination, and customer support, ensuring reliability and compliance. The role also builds the skills needed to manage a regional customer base by developing product expertise, diagnostic capabilities, and the ability to deliver service-focused training with guidance from internal and field personnel.
Essential Functions
- Perform field inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to support commercial vehicle performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair activities between customers, service providers, and internal teams.
- Serve as a customer liaison, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution across dealers and fleet accounts.
- Monitor and document service activity, performance trends, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop service competencies through training and achievement of defined performance objectives.
- Build knowledge of customer segments and product positioning across OEM, dealer, and fleet markets.
- Gain product and market expertise across trailer, truck, specialty products, brake and wheel end products, and aftermarket operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technical and business objectives.
- Participate in structured training across key business functions.
- Develop proficiency in systems and administrative processes, including, but not limited to, customer relationship management (CRM) tools, reporting, and company policies.
- Travel as required to support field service responsibilities and development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
- Active enrollment or completion of a bachelor's degree in a related field and/or technical training or exposure to diesel mechanics or commercial vehicle systems is preferred.
- Training in field service operations, diagnostics, and customer interaction is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- Customer service, field service, or other relevant forms of experience is preferred.
- Willingness to relocate and travel up to 75% of the time is required.
- Basic knowledge of commercial vehicles, mechanical systems, or fleet operations is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach is essential.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems is crucial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and willingness to learn CRM systems and other tools is necessary.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle as an essential function of the role for business travel.

Pay
$70,000.00–80,000.00 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.
