About the role

The Field Sales Representative is needed to sell company products and services in the Orange County market in Tustin, CA. TTI, Inc., headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, is a leading authorized distributor of passive, connector, electromechanical, and discrete components.

Responsibilities

  • Create sales by generating leads and calling on assigned customer accounts.
  • Defend sales by ensuring all aspects of transactions are handled professionally and ethically.
  • Penetrate sales by pursuing new business leads and negotiating special pricing.
  • Facilitate follow-through on the sales cycle by keeping touch with customers and managing order completeness and customer satisfaction.
  • Attend QBRs and regular meetings with internal management to understand business outlook and opportunities.
  • Negotiate price quotes and delivery terms to offer the best deal for the customer and maximize profitability for TTI.
  • Work with customer's buyers, purchasing, and engineering staff to offer value-added services and build future business.
  • Report daily itinerary to branch management to track customer activity and effectiveness.
  • Participate in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting quality processes and identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of field sales experience, preferably in component sales and/or engineering, with a background in inside sales.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, products, vendors, warehousing, branch operations, and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to present complex topics effectively to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors.
  • Strong analytical skills (calculating discounts, interests, proportions, percentages, and components of a target income-based pay plan).
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and make responsible, independent decisions.
  • Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and insurable by the company’s liability carrier.
  • Able to travel at least 50% of the time, with occasional overnight and air travel as needed.
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) at a basic level.
  • Ability to carry up to 10 pounds without assistance.
