Responsibilities
- Create sales, defend sales, and penetrate sales for existing and potential customers.
- Establish and maintain effective business rapport with customer's purchasing and management staff.
- Pursue new business leads using various resources.
- Facilitate follow-through on every level of the sales cycle.
- Attend quarterly business reviews and regular meetings with internal management.
- Ensure timely delivery of price quotes.
- Increase customer account coverage by working with Account Representatives.
- Work with customer's buyers, purchasing, and engineering staff on projects and designs.
- Negotiate special pricing and delivery terms.
- Resolve customer questions, problems, and complaints.
- Entertain customers to aid in negotiations and show appreciation of business.
- Maintain market awareness on competitor activities and industry trends.
- Report daily itinerary to branch management.
- Participate in the TTI Total Quality Program.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of field sales experience preferred, preferably in component sales and/or engineering.
- Exhibits thorough knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, product, vendors, warehousing, branch operations, and systems.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Able to present complex topics effectively to senior management, public groups, and boards of directors.
- Strong analytical skills (calculating discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, and percentages).
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License, safe driving record, and be insurable by the Company’s liability carrier.
- Must be able to travel 50% of the time, amount varying based on territory assigned.
- Must possess working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and computer systems.
- Must be able to carry up to 10 lbs. without assistance.
