Field Sales Representative, Central Region

This position covers the Midwest US territory (MN, NE, IA, ND, SD) and can be based in Minneapolis/Rochester, St. Louis, Iowa City, Omaha, or other locations within the region.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed assigned territory sales targets by maintaining and growing sales in current accounts and identifying and closing business in new accounts.
- Accurately forecast prospects through the sales cycle and maintain a balanced prospect list reflecting sales targets.
- Interpret customer needs and identify Bruker Life Science Mass Spectrometry (BDAL) solutions, building and articulating the BDAL value proposition.
- Understand the customer decision-making process, including key decision-makers and influencers, and cultivate key accounts.
- Provide sales territory information, forecasts, reports, and other business data through the BDAL management structure.
- Complete a business plan for the assigned territory detailing specific strategies and activities required to achieve goals.
- Identify and work with internal resources to enhance customer interaction throughout the sales process.
- Maintain and enhance sales skills through technical and sales training.
- Develop and maintain a territory database and enhance technical knowledge of BDAL products, company literature, and competitive offerings.
- Maintain knowledge to discuss commercial contract terms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or an equivalent scientific degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five years’ sales experience in a related industry with demonstrated success.
- Mass Spectrometry background strongly preferred.
- Experience with contact management database software (e.g., Salesforce.com), Microsoft Teams, and MS Office; ability to learn new software packages.
- Experience with Bruker software is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to work with diverse customer backgrounds and internal teams (e.g., management, service, applications).
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing commercial environment and manage time effectively.
- Must maintain a home office with telephone and computer connectivity.
- Flexibility and ability to manage differing time constraints; in-depth industry knowledge.
- Self-motivation and willingness to collaborate toward shared goals.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%; must have and maintain valid travel documentation.
Pay
The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $79,200.00 to $141,000.00. The base salary will depend on factors such as education, training, experience, geographic location, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive.
