About the Role
Daikin Applied is seeking a Field Sales Engineer to join their team. This role involves developing and securing new equipment sales, driving sales across various commercial and industrial building types, influencing project designs, and providing tailored technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and secure new equipment sales by calling on mechanical contractors, developers, end users, and general contractors
- Drive sales across commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and large construction projects
- Influence project designs by working with consulting engineers to incorporate company solutions into specifications
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales goals and quotas
- Plan and execute sales activities to maximize selling time and expand market share through strategic prospecting
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring accurate forecasting
- Analyze customer needs and provide tailored technical solutions using HVAC products and systems
- Perform take-offs, estimates, proposals, and bid submissions
- Conduct financial and lifecycle cost analysis to support solution selling
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales Engineers, Operations, and Leadership) on project execution and strategy
- Oversee order processing, submittals, and approvals, ensuring compliance with company procedures
- Support customers throughout the sales cycle and installation process, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business
- Maintain knowledge of competitive products, pricing, and market conditions
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely follow-up on open opportunities
- Support accounts receivable efforts to maintain healthy cash flow
- Participate in industry organizations such as ASHRAE
- Absorb and train new sales team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent degree
- 2-4+ years related experience and/or training
- Experience with Salesforce of any other sales tracking software
- Experience in HVAC or related field

Pay
The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $72,700 to $130,400 in New York/New Jersey plus a sales incentive plan.
