Field Safety Representative

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site Safety Representative to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance on assigned projects.
  • Conduct routine and detailed jobsite safety inspections, including facilities, tools, equipment, machinery, and safety systems.
  • Identify, document, and correct potential hazards and unsafe behaviors.
  • Initiate, perform, and document safety inspections and audits with a strong emphasis on hazard recognition, loss prevention, and workers’ compensation risk reduction.
  • Assist the Safety Manager with administrative and program support.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of construction safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Cook up and lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to ensure effective communication of PIC safety expectations.
  • Ensure Project Safety Work Plans and Safety Task Assessments (STAs) are followed.
  • Cook and support the development and review of Safety Task Assessments for each major phase of work.
  • Aid in the investigation of incidents, including injuries, near misses, and property damage, to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Cook and collaborate with the Safety Manager to develop, review, and update emergency response plans.
  • Perform additional EHS-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years minimum experience in construction or manufacturing safety role.
  • Strong understanding of and commitment to construction safety principles.
  • Experience with incident and accident investigations.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA and FMCSA.
  • Must be OSHA 30 certified.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in the field.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be firm, fair, and consistent when enforcing safety requirements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support multiple worksites and corporate operations.
