Field Safety Rep - Substations

Responsibilities
- Provide on-site safety support for substation construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities
- Participate in daily tailboards, job briefings, and field safety observations
- Identify hazards and unsafe conditions and work with crews and supervision to implement corrective actions
- Support development and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), switching plans, and site-specific safety plans
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NESC, company policies, and client safety requirements
- Serve as a field resource and mentor to crews by reinforcing safe work practices through direct engagement
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- 8+ years of hands-on experience working within electrical substations, including construction, maintenance, testing, commissioning, or outage activities
- Strong understanding of substation-specific hazards, grounding practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and energized work protocols
- Ability to communicate effectively with field crews, supervisors, and project leadership in active substation environments
- Willingness to travel to job sites across Texas as needed
- OSHA 10 or 30, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, or similar safety training, preferred
- Prior safety representative or safety leadership experience, preferred but not required
