Field Safety Rep - Substations

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site safety support for substation construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities
• Participate in daily tailboards, job briefings, and field safety observations
• Identify hazards and unsafe conditions and work with crews and supervision to implement corrective actions
• Support development and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), switching plans, and site-specific safety plans
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NESC, company policies, and client safety requirements
• Serve as a field resource and mentor to crews by reinforcing safe work practices through direct engagement

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• 8+ years of hands-on experience working within electrical substations, including construction, maintenance, testing, commissioning, or outage activities
• A strong understanding of substation-specific hazards, grounding practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and energized work protocols
• The ability to communicate effectively with field crews, supervisors, and project leadership in active substation environments
• A willingness to travel to job sites across Texas as needed
• OSHA 10 or 30, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, or similar safety training, preferred
• Prior safety representative or safety leadership experience, preferred but not required

Qualifications
