Field Safety Coordinator

Project Duration: Approximately 6-8 months, with additional projects expected. Work Environment: Field-Based / Project Sites

About The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Project Safety & Health Managers to support multiple large-scale construction, mining, manufacturing, energy, and industrial projects. This is a hands-on field leadership position for an experienced safety professional who can serve as a trusted safety resource on active project sites. The successful candidate will help protect the workforce, maintain OSHA and client compliance, identify and mitigate hazards, investigate incidents, and strengthen the overall safety culture. The role is ideal for a safety professional who enjoys working in dynamic field environments, collaborating with project leadership, and solving safety challenges in real time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support site-wide safety programs, initiatives, and compliance activities.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Identify potential hazards and work with project leadership to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate workplace incidents and near misses and support root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and client-specific requirements.
• Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce training.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, compliance records, reports, and project safety metrics.
• Promote a strong, proactive safety culture across the project site.
• Provide first aid within established physician-directed protocols.
• Respond promptly to workplace injuries, medical events, and other emergency situations.
• Coordinate with case management teams regarding treatment recommendations and employee follow-up.
• Maintain first aid supplies, AEDs, emergency response equipment, and related resources.
• Accurately document first aid activities, injuries, and medical response actions.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, site leadership, supervisors, employees, and client safety teams.
• Serve as a visible, approachable, and knowledgeable safety resource on the jobsite.
• Communicate safety concerns, project needs, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
• Assist project teams in developing and maintaining effective safety practices.
• Support continuous improvement of site safety programs and processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional safety experience in construction, mining, manufacturing, energy, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
• Demonstrated experience conducting:
  • Safety inspections
  • Job hazard assessments
  • Incident investigations
  • Safety audits
  • Workforce safety training
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with field teams.
• Ability to work independently and make sound safety decisions in active project environments.
• Ability to identify hazards, assess risk, and implement practical corrective actions.
• Willingness and ability to work in a field-based construction/industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
• Candidates must possess at least one of the following professional safety credentials:
  • CSP - Certified Safety Professional
  • ASP - Associate Safety Professional
  • CHST - Construction Health & Safety Technician
  • OHST - Occupational Health & Safety Technician
  • SMS - Safety Management Specialist
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred. Additional training will be provided, including CPR, First Aid, and Advanced First Aid certification.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction projects.
• Experience in industrial electrical environments.
• Emergency response, occupational first aid, military medic, EMS, or related experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale construction, industrial, energy, mining, or manufacturing projects.

Pay

$100,000+ per year + Per Diem

Schedule

• Project Duration: Approximately 6-8 months, with additional projects anticipated.
• Schedule options:
  • One Friday off every four weeks, or
  • A four-day weekend with Friday and Monday off every eight weeks
• Schedule is subject to operational and project coverage requirements.
